It seems that I am currently surrounded by babies! My close friends just had their beautiful baby boy and I think I counted a total of 13 people that are expecting! Underground baby club? Maybe! There is nothing more exciting than a tiny, innocent, and cute baby. It brings family and friends together to welcome a new human to our big world. Inspired by getting in the mood to host a few showers of my own, I realized how many cute themes are out there! So I put together a list for all of you and listed themes that range from classic to kid-friendly to fashionable!
First, pick a theme:
Nautical - Girl/Boy/Gender Neutral
I am currently planning a Nautical themed baby shower for my dear friend and soon will have all the decor up on our etsy site. I will post photos after it's over but that probably won’t be until later this year since she’s due in November!
Mommy To Bee
The Classic Rubber Ducky
Lil Man Mustache
Cute as A Button
Monkey and Banana
Seasonal - Spring/Fall etc...
Travel "Baby on Board"
Ready to Pop Bubble
A Nursery Rhyme - Cow Jumped Over the Moon, Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill (for twins!)
Or my new favorite is skipping a shower all together and doing a big gender reveal party for you and all your closest friends and family! One of our planning specialities! Head to our page to request info to have us help assist with yours!
Pick A Couple fun games: A few fun options!
Due Date Guess
Have everyone guess when the actual due date will be. Use stamps, make a calendar with the due date marked, have guests guess when it will be. Make it more interesting by throwing a little cash on it all. The person who gets closest gets the whole pot!
The Classic Blindfolded Diaper Change
Blindfold your guests and have them change a diaper on a baby doll or stuffed animal. Time them for an extra challenge! Especially great if you secretly place melted chocolate in the diaper. Don’t forget to take lot’s of pictures! For added humor, buy a smelly spray to mist onto the melted chocolate for an authentic diaper change.
Mummy To Be
Buy a bunch of toilet paper rolls. When I say a bunch, I mean a bunch! Make teams of three or four and give each five toilet paper rolls. Give them five minutes to cover one of their group members in as much toilet paper as possible. To the point of resembling an Egyptian mummy! The mom to be can pick the winner!
Give your guests two minutes to run around the house and grab any items they wish that will add up to what they believe the baby will weigh at birth. Once the two minutes is up, grab the scale and weigh each group’s items. This game is best when money is put on it! On the due date, whichever group’s items came closest to the baby’s weight will win the jackpot!
Plan a Creative Menu!
Ask what the mom to be has been craving and find food that matches with your theme. Come up with a signature mocktail, some moms don’t mind if there is light drinking so you can come up with a signature cocktail as well! Have it match the mom to be’s! For example, if you make a long island ice tea for the guests make a regular ice tea for the mom to be with a cut out picture of a Long Island map attached to it! What? Being witty is fun, give it a try!
